On any given weekend our Pedal Power Racers are all over Ontario competing and representing in a variety of great events.
Here is a race report from Sean and Al:
"On May the 9th Sean and AI competed in the 5th Beachburg Spring Chicken 50km Enduro . As usual it was going to be a muddy hard race. This race attracts mountain bikers from all over Eastern ON and Western QC. After an uneventful first 5 km of dirt roads the next 15 k.m. were all slick rocky single track with some of Renfrew County's famous a.t.v. trails and knee high beaver damn crossings. The next 20 k.m. were a combination of: road and mud, gravel and mud, single track and mud, and a.t.v. trails and mud, oh ya and I almost forgot...MUD! The last ten k.m. were a mix if fast double track and gravel roads finishing off with some awsome single track though a pine forest. (similar to the Pines in Woodstock).
Al unfortunately had to call it a day after 35 k.m., some of the intersections and signs can be easily missed and in the heat of the race our group ended up playing follow the leader. The lad leading out our group had missed the trail head and our group ended up getting off course and before we realised it, we were too far off the course and decided to ride back to the start/finish.
Sean had a good race once things got settled down after the first 15km and ended up finishing 8th in his age group 14th over all.
Can't wait to do it again next year."
